Your questions about the Young Leaders Program answered.
On arrival at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, a Young Leaders Program mentor will meet students at the arrival gate. You will be contacted via email a couple of days before your departure with the mentor's name and photo who will be at the airport and clear instructions. Parents/Guardians are then emailed when the student is on their way to Trinity.
No, we do not pick up or drop off at this airport. You must arrive and depart at Tullamarine Airport only.
We track flight arrivals and departures so will know if there is a delay and adjust the pick-up time accordingly.
All activities, transport, excursions, meals etc are covered by your tuition fees. You may want some spending money for extra snacks or souvenirs.
Tourist/travel visa. NOT a student visa. It is important that these documents are obtained as soon as possible. Any delay in applying may impact on your ability to attend. Find out more information and locate your closest Australian mission.
This is compulsory for all international students.
Students on flights should arrive in Melbourne Tullamarine airport by 12pm (noon) on the day their program commences and organise departure flights between 8.00m and 3.00pm on the day their program concludes.
Students being dropped off should arrive between 2.00pm and 3.00pm on the day their program commences and be picked up between 9.00am and 11.00am on the day their program concludes.
There is no accommodation available at Trinity College the day before or after the program dates specified for the week/s you are attending.
Yes. Trinity College caters for all dietary requirements. All you need to do is clearly outline any allergies and dietary needs in your applications. Be specific. All meats are prepared Halal.
All students will stay in a Trinity College dorm room, sharing with one other student of the same gender from the program, but from another country (where possible).
We being accepting applications for the July program at the end of January and applications close the last week of May. Applications open for the December program in August and close the last week in October. Application forms can be found here. No. YLP is a residential program and students are required to live on campus for the entire program.

The price for YLP varies depending on the number of weeks that you are attending. The course fee includes tuition, mentoring, meals, accommodation, all activities, return airport transfers and other organised activities. It excludes flights, tourist visa, compulsory travel and medical insurance for international students and spending money.

Admission decisions will be made on a 'rolling' basis and you will receive an admission decision within 5 business days of submitting a complete application.
As part of the application form you sign you will be required to follow Trinity College policies including the student code of conduct and the excursion policy. You should read the policy section of the website. Trinity College puts safety first, and YLP rules prohibiting involvement with alcohol and drugs are an important factor in our effort to provide students with a positive environment for study and growth in the program.
We recommended that personal luggage is limited to no more than ONE bag/suitcase per person plus ONE hand-carry cabin bag. Washing powder will be provided for you to wash your clothes.
