Trinity College grounds on a beautiful sunny day

Aged care in Australia was already in crisis even before the devastating effects of COVID-19 in many of Victoria’s aged care homes. Moreover, attitudes towards the ageing have changed dramatically in recent generations, coinciding with the seeping in of utilitarian thinking about human value and health in public discourse. What is the duty (or rather privilege), of our community, and especially the Christian communities, in respect of and care for the ageing?

The panellists are:

  • The Revd Canon Dr Ray Cleary AM (former CEO of Anglicare Victoria)
  • The Revd Professor Elizabeth Mackinlay AM (Director of the Colloquium for Ageing Perspectives and Spirituality, at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Charles Sturt University)
  • Ms Ilsa Hampton (CEO, Meaningful Ageing Australia)
