From the Warden of Trinity College
At Trinity College, we are committed to providing the best educational and living experience to our students and this is particularly true as we learn to live, work and learn in a COVID world.
Trinity College remains true to its vision of helping students of exceptional promise to imagine and achieve a better world, and, during this testing time our staff, students and stakeholders have gone above and beyond to keep the Trinity community strong.
Our Residential College students have banded together and continue to connect with shared activities and clubs, and our staff continue to offer academic and wellbeing programs that support our students in their studies and personal lives. It turns out that College is a good place to be during a pandemic if you are a young person who is keen to study and stay connected with peers.
Our Pathways School staff and students have swiftly adapted to online learning and remain connected via many online activities and support programs. Despite the upheaval of the international education sector in Australia, our students continue to matriculate to the University of Melbourne, achieving their dream of joining Australia’s top-ranked university.
In our Theological School, large numbers of enthusiastic students continue to enrol in subjects taught by our exceptional staff who undertake world-leading research, publish scholarly texts and host online educational and theological events.
We look forward to returning to a sense of normality as vaccination rates help to keep the Trinity and greater community protected against the worst effects of COVID-19.
In addition to our three divisions, we are also grateful to have a strong network of alumni who support us through thick and thin. The strength of our alumni network and greater community is testament to the important effect of Trinity College on people’s lives – as we have done so for over a century.
In fact, in 2022, we will be celebrating Trinity’s 150th anniversary. This will be a time to reflect on the amazing achievements of the College and its people, and we will roll out a series of events throughout the year to mark this important occasion.
I am incredibly proud to be a part of such an esteemed institution that impacts so many lives so favourably, and am deeply thankful to everyone who plays a role in helping us achieve our goals.
