Students of Theology have access to a range of support services available to them to assist with study and living.

Orientation for New Students
Orientations are run at the beginning of each semester, including information sessions, meeting staff and students, and learning how to access online resources and the Code of Conduct. For online students, this information is provided via the website and email communication.
Library Services
Trinity College students have access to the Leeper Library at Trinity and to the Dalton-McCaughey Theological Library at the Centre for Theology and Ministry. Please see the Library page for more details.
Academic Support and Mentoring
All students enrolled at Trinity College are able to access specialist support for their academic program, including course advice, course planning and mentoring. Please contact your lecturer or the Course Co-ordinator if you would like to discuss your particular needs.
Study Skills
All new students are expected to complete 'Study Skills for Theology' as an introductory unit for full credit towards their award. This provides basic training and skills to assist you with future studies in Theology. We can also provide workshops on essay writing and thesis peparation.
Language Skills
Workshops and/or individual assistance with English language, including Theological Writing for ESL Students, can be arranged. Please contact your lecturer or the Course Co-ordinator if you would like to discuss your particular needs.
Pastoral Care and Counselling
Students should feel free to contact one of the staff and especially one of the trained Chaplains to discuss matters of personal concern that affect their ability to study successfully. Chaplains can provide helpful advice on matters that are upsetting you, and can refer you to professional help if necessary.

Code of Conduct
All students enrolled at Trinity College are expected to understand and abide by the standards set out in the Code of Conduct. If you need advice or wish to speak to someone about a possible breach of the Code, please contact one of the official Advisors, the Registrar of the Theological School, or one of the Chaplains.
Inclusion Policy
Trinity College Theological School is a diverse and inclusive one, and we acknowledge that human rights and social justice apply to everyone. Included with the policy is a Student Support Plan application form. This can be used by students who may benefit from additional support, based on a specific need or condition. Fee-HELP (University Fee Loan Scheme)
Fee-HELP is the primary means by which students can be assisted with the cost of University of Divinity tuition fees. Fee-HELP is a loan given to eligible fee-paying students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees. Students repay their loan through the tax system once their income is above the minimum threshold for compulsory repayment. The Government charges a loan fee for students who are enrolled in undergraduate courses. Fee-HELP brochures and forms are available from the Theological School office. Accommodation and Residence
The Theological School is not able to offer all students residence places or assistance with accommodation in Melbourne except in the form of offering general advice. We do, however, value participation in our residential community with its all the benefits of being able to partake in daily prayer, regular worship and the building of strong alliances with the rest of the student body. If you are a full-time student, and especially if you are a candidate for ordination, Trinity has available a small number of Resident Theological Scholarships.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Course fees are set by the University of Divinity for those enrolled in all formal award programs. Those undertaking the Ministry Formation Program only will be liable for fees for that program, but these can usually be offset by a studentship awards available to ordinands and those in the Year of Discernment.
The Theological School is able to offer various forms of financial assistance to students studying within the College. These are detailed on a separate Scholarships page that includes information on:
- Theological Scholarships for those with financial need
- Studentships to cover Formation Program fees for those seeking ordination
- Residential Scholarships for a limited number of full-time class-based students.
International Students

Emergency Contacts
Call 000 (triple zero) for all emergencies requiring the immediate attendance of police, ambulance or the fire department. The nearest hospital to the Trinity campus is the Royal Melbourne Hospital on the corner of Royal Parade and Grattan Street. A list of other health services and hospitals can be found on the Department of Health website.
For all matters of personal concern, your first point of contact is the Registrar of the Theological School. During business hours, he will be able to direct you to nearby doctors and other facilities. A registered Nurse is also available during normal business hours for advice and first aid.
